May 2018
For the month of May, I decided to create a spring theme. For the bottom, I chose a very pretty, pink flower as the background image. For the top, main image, I placed Chloe in a field of sunflowers. I used a picture of her peeking around a door. To cover the door, I used a bunch of sunflowers that I created. I duplicated the image 8 times, then used the free transform tool to make the sunflowers all different shapes and sizes. I inserted a picture of the sky, and used the same color to cover the area around Chloe. I used the same color as the stems to color the ground, making it look like grass. The drawings made the actual picture of Chloe stand out, since it was so realistic, compared to the drawings.

June 2018
For the month of June, we had to create a soul collage. I found a picture of half of a mountain, scanned it to make a full mountain, then put it horizontally on the paper. Sticking with the nature theme, I decided to find pictures of flowers, that matched the sky, to make the blueish purple colors pop. To make the soul collage more abstract, I put two small flowers (one that I had scanned) sideways on the paper, and a larger flower on top. I love summer and being outdoors, so the nature theme really describes me.

For the final calendar project, we had to include a "special' page, a page with thumbnails, and a cover page. For the special page, I chose to do a birthday chart, so I made a text box for each month of the calendar, and left it blank, so whoever uses the calendar can personalize the birthday list. On the page on the top right, I simply added a thumbnail of each image in the calendar. For my cover, I added my two favorite pictures of Chloe. The larger one is a picture of Chloe and me, and the smaller is my favorite picture of Chloe, that I also used in March. On top, I wrote "Chloe" in word art, and added a dog paw print and a heart.
For the international recipe book, I picked the country Australia. I chose to go a meal and a dessert item. The meal was Pappardelle with Porcini, a pasta dish. I found a picture of the dish, which I edited in Photoshop to make it look like a drawing. I also added an Australian flag. All of the text boxes and word art stayed the same for both pages. I also out my name on both pages, along with ingredients required and step-by-step directions to make the dish. the dessert I chose was Australian Tea Cake, a simple cake, preferably eaten with tea. On this page, I found the Australian flag on a map of Australia, to make it obvious that both recipes were from Australia.

We also had to create a cover for the recipe book. My cover had random clip art pictures included, all related to either the cooking or international aspect of the project. I included a large globe with flags for all different countries all over it. I also put another globe, with people holding hands around the world, showing that all of the cultures are related. I also added a simple chef's hat and a fork and knife graphic, and a cookbook graphic with a measuring bowl and a spoon.

I decided to do "Cake in a Can" for my can label design. I added fireworks and confetti, because it's funfetti cake. I also added all of the other necessary parts, including nutrition facts, ingredients, company contact info, where it was made, a bar code, a picture of funfetti cake, the expiration date, and other needed info/symbols (low fat, weight, heating directions, the recycling symbol). I used a lot of brights and vibrant colors and symbols.
